A short story about us

M-K-T Mercantile was opened in August of 2024 by Michael and Jeanie Swed. It is housed in the old Green Ridge Drovers Hotel, built in 1870. The hotel was one of the first buildings in Green Ridge, Missouri and is currently the oldest building in town. The Drovers Hotel was strategically placed to offer rest and comfort to the cowboys driving herds to the train depot.

The antique shop was named for the Missouri- Kansas-Texas Rail Line. The railway has been shut down for decades now, and the tracks removed. The state of Missouri has taken over the land and turned it into the Katy Trail State Park. Green Ridge is a great place to rest from riding or hiking and grab a bite to eat at Mona’s Cafe or a snack at Casey’s.

Jeanie and Michael live above the shop with their two cats. When you stop by, the cats might say hello (if they are awake). Mike will help you out in the store and you might see what furniture Jeanie is working on in the workshop.
